About MovementWorks
Our Mission
At MovementWorks Dance and Fitness, our mission is to nurture growth in body, mind, and spirit through developmentally appropriate, noncompetitive, and family-centered programs. We empower individuals of all ages—starting as young as 6 months—to explore movement, creativity, and connection through dance, yoga, acro, cheer, and early childhood education.
Our Vision
We envision a vibrant, inclusive community where people of all ages feel confident, connected, and inspired through movement and learning. Our goal is to be a place where families grow together, children build a lifelong love of learning and expression, and every student feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

What People Are Saying
Meet Jess
Jess Widener-Pruitt (she/her)
Director, Choreographer, Dance Teacher, Enrichment Teacher, RYT 500
I'm passionate about creating spaces where children and adults are safe to be themselves, move their bodies in a healthy & fun way, and grow with confidence.
Dance has been part of my life since childhood, taking me from local studios to performing in New York City. A proud graduate of Firelands High School, I later expanded my focus to include Early Childhood Education, Montessori instruction, and mindfulness practices—allowing me to nurture young learners through both movement and enrichment.
I do this work because it is important to me to give the community the same love, safety & outlet I experienced through dance growing up. With our early childhood program, these children help us see the world & our relationships more simply and with appreciation.
About Our Sister Organization: Movement PathwayS
Movement Pathways is MovementWorks' sister organization, dedicated to bringing the benefits of movement, mindfulness, and wellness to everyone in our community—regardless of income, age, or ability.
Through partnerships with schools, libraries, assisted living facilities, and community organizations, Movement Pathways offers free and low-cost programs including dance classes, yoga, early childhood enrichment, and wellness workshops. We also provide scholarships and pay-what-you-can opportunities to ensure that all families can access quality movement education.
Our mission is simple: movement is a pathway to health, confidence, and belonging—and it should be accessible to all.
